SUMMARY: This issue features a letter from the editor on a new program, an article submitted by a prisoner who had recently left the therapeutic unit, the tendency for guards to label mature prisoners as stabilizers, news from each of the institution’s units, a reprinted article on educational programs in prisons, allegations of torture in a Montreal prison, an inside look at a halfway house, a project creating prisoner profiles, and information on the Occupational Exploratory Training program. Also included are reprinted articles on a program that allows prisoners to help local farmers, members of the community who want higher surveillance of former prisoners’ activities, and another on assisted suicide.
