This issue opens with an article by the warden commenting on the positive relationship that has developed between the staff and the prisoners.  Also in this edition are articles on the food services in prison, the use of hynosis in obtaining confessions from suspected criminals, and half-way houses used to prevent crime.  The privately-run reform institution Oublaisse in France and the new and progressive prisons in Sweden and Switzerland also receive coverage in this issue.
