Parole plays a major role in this issue of Con.T.A.C.T. There are seventeen pages, written by lawyers as a reference for other lawyers, dedicated to the in-depth examination of parole and mandatory supervision, including several examples of sentence computations. Also found in this issue is the National Library of Canada’s request for copies of Collin’s Bay’s penal press publications, detailed procedures for deposit, and the consequences of not submitting copies. Finally, a historical piece: an excerpt from the Kingston Penitentiary warden’s diary dated 1859.
