SUMMARY: This issue includes reprinted articles on the issue of mandatory 25-year sentences, the misconception that imprisonment is the only option, providing education to young offenders to prevent future crimes, the vast amount of violence taking place in prisons, several articles on the proposed segregation of violent offenders, a call to overhaul mandatory supervision laws, and the ineffectiveness of youth detention centres. Also featured are original articles, including updates from each of the prison’s units, a unit barbeque, Inmate Committee notes, and some short fiction.
